Throughout his career the numbers of pieces made by David Burnham Smith are very few. On average perhaps 2 or 3 are completed successfully each month.  As David is responsible for all stages of production it is a full time occupation and gathering enough pieces for exhibitions can take up to 2 years.  A balance has to be struck between selling his pieces and reserving those for exhibition purposes.  This is a  dilemma as his work is in great demand.  Creations by highly talented artists such as David should be on display for the enjoyment of all, yet the vast majority of his pieces find their way into collector’s homes and are unlikely to be seen by many other people again. The publication of this website is intended to address this problem.

Commissions – A significant proportion of David’s work results from commissions. However, due to the time required to complete each piece (and other contributing factors), a definite completion date may not be possible at the time the commission is accepted.
